Go Where YOU Grow!: 5-Week Residency

At Feather House, we believe every child carries a story worth growing. That’s why we offer in-school programs where Go Where YOU Grow! comes to life in your classrooms.

Over the course of five weeks, author Liza May Read will guide your students through an interactive social-emotional learning journey inspired by her five-story collection, Go Where YOU Grow!

Each week, Liza visits the classroom to read one story and lead discussions and creative activities that help students explore and practice the book’s core lessons: self-belief, empathy, resilience, patience, and gratitude/giving back.

Through reflection, journaling, art, and collaboration, students develop a growth mindset and begin to see themselves as the authors of their own lives.

The residency culminates in a collective writing project -

“I Am the Author of My Life: Letters to My Future Self”, an anthology of student-written and illustrated letters that begins with the line “I am the author of my life…”

This inspiring collection will be published by Feather House Publishing, giving each student the unforgettable experience of becoming a published author, journeying from reader to writer, just like Liza May Read herself.
